Symptoms

Upgrade fails with reoccurring errors in the postgres/bootstrap logs.

Impact

The upgrade can fail if the disk fills up during upgrade. Or you will see the device left in an inoperable state following a successful upgrade. Usually the latter occurs.

Conditions

This can happen when certain RBAC configurations (in postgresDB prior) are present prior to the upgrade. For example, a large number of custom roles.
