Symptoms

When running commands such as "image <controller|partition> remove iso <version>", the error output contains the following message, among other details: "Error: unexpected response back from API: 1"

Impact

The error message from these commands is unhelpful to the user and reveals internal implementation details.

Conditions

The output occurs after you run a command to remove system controller or chassis partition images that are in use. A typical example is when you are trying to remove an ISO that uses OS/service artifacts.

None

Fix Information

The fix is present in F5OS-C version 1.2.2. The error message is replaced by one of the following (or another more helpful message if more specific information is available): "Error: failed to remove controller image; may be in use" "Error: failed to remove partition image; may be in use"
