Bug ID 1211861: Configured input values of IP address fields reset to default upon switching the protocol

Last Modified: May 29, 2024

Affected Product(s):
F5OS F5OS(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
F5OS-A 1.3.1, F5OS-A 1.3.2, F5OS-C 1.5.0, F5OS-C 1.5.1

Fixed In:
F5OS-C 1.6.0, F5OS-A 1.5.0, F5OS-A 1.4.0

Opened: Dec 22, 2022

Severity: 4-Minor

Symptoms

IP address fields are reset to default values.

Impact

Values of IP address fields are lost as they are reset to default values.

Conditions

When the user changes the protocol and switches back to the previously selected protocol via the "Address" field on the webUI.

Workaround

Users can cancel or navigate away from the screen. When they visit the management interface screen again, the configured values will appear.

Fix Information

The "Address" field in the Management Interface section has been removed, and all the IPv4 and IPv6 address fields are always displayed, thereby eliminating the need to switch protocols. We have added 'X' buttons adjacent to the address fields that can be leveraged to put in default values in case the user does not want to configure the fields for a particular protocol.
