Bug ID 1229965: Configuration of parameters under projected_objects corrupts virtual server configuration when partition is different and route domain is not default

Last Modified: Apr 17, 2024

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP AFM, LTM(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
15.1.6.1, 15.1.7, 15.1.8, 15.1.8.1, 15.1.8.2, 15.1.9, 15.1.9.1, 15.1.10, 15.1.10.2, 15.1.10.3, 15.1.10.4

Opened: Jan 24, 2023

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

In Security ›› DoS Protection : Protected Objects : Protected Objects List, if a virtual server is edited inside a non-common partition with a default Route Domain different than 0, then %0 is added at the end of the virtual server's IP.

Impact

The traffic is disrupted if the changes are saved to the protected object without removing %0 from the IP address.

Conditions

Edit a virtual server in Security ›› DoS Protection : Protected Objects : Protected Objects List.

Workaround

Following are two possible workarounds: - Assign the DoS profile manually to virtual server (Local Traffic ›› Virtual Servers : Virtual Server List). or - Before saving the changes in protection profile page, remove %0 from virtual server IP address.
