Connections on standby are not closing after they have been closed on the server. These connections on standby will only eventually be cleaned up once the idle timeout expires.
Standby accumulates and hold more connections than the active leading to resource allocations depletion on standby faster than active.
Rare condition.
Avoid the use of state.mirror verify and the issue will not occur.
