Symptoms

When a BIG-IP administrator tries to set password of length greater than 64 characters through GUI, then it gets truncated to only 64 characters. which in turn results in failure of Email Agent in access policy.

Impact

BIG-IP administrator will not be able to set usernames or passwords with length greater than 64 characters.

Conditions

A limitation on maximum length of username and password to 64 characters are applied by the BIG-IP admin GUI, which directly stores a truncated string into the configuration resulting in failure of authentication of SMTP server.

Workaround

Set the password through TMSH.
