Symptoms

Interfaces can go down and "Optic REMOVED", "Unable to read optic EEPROM - device is unusable", or "Unexpected NACK detected during I2C transaction" messages appear in the VELOS log, even for interfaces that have nothing plugged in.

Impact

Temporary loss of connectivity on port group interfaces.

Workaround

Ensure that all interfaces, used or unused, are enabled.
