Symptoms

The BIG-IP system does not respond to ARP requests. It will resolve the ARP request but might not forward the response to the client device.

Impact

Locally attached devices might fail to resolve ARP for devices on the other side of a vlan-group.

Conditions

-- A tenant on an r2600, r2800, r4600 or r4800 -- A transparent or translucent vlan-group -- Certain traffic patterns, typically low volume, across the vlan-group. -- An ARP request is made for a device on the other side of the vlan-group.
