Last Modified: Oct 19, 2026

F5OS Velos(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
F5OS-C 1.8.2, F5OS-C 1.8.2-HR1, F5OS-C 1.8.2-HR2, F5OS-C 1.8.2-HR3

Opened: Apr 16, 2026

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

Deleting a controller or partition backup file using the GUI, F5SH, or API does not result in the deletion of files in the standby controller's file system. - For partition backups: /var/F5/partition<N>/configs/ - For controller backups: /var/confd/configs/

Impact

- Accumulation of stale backup files on standby controller. - When a standby controller is made active, the stale files are synchronized to the new standby controller.

Conditions

A backup file is deleted through the GUI, F5SH, or API on F5OS VELOS platform.

Workaround

Manually run SSH commands on the standby controller and directly delete the stale backup file. For controller backups: ssh controller-<standby_id> 'rm /var/confd/configs/<backup_name>' For partition backups: ssh controller-<standby_id> 'rm /var/F5/partition<N>/configs/<backup_name>'
