Bug ID 2296549: tmsh 'show gtm ldns' and 'show gtm path' commands limited to 1,000 records with no option to increase output limit

Last Modified: Jul 07, 2026

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP DNS(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
16.1.6.1, 17.1.3.2, 17.5.1.6

Opened: May 18, 2026

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

-The tmsh commands show gtm ldns and show gtm path display a maximum of 1,000 records, even if more entries exist in the system. -There is no tmsh option or keyword (such as max-entries) to increase the number of records displayed. -Users are unable to view or verify LDNS or path records beyond the first 1,000 entries via tmsh.

Impact

-Administrators cannot view or confirm the existence of LDNS or path records beyond the 1,000-record limit using tmsh. -Troubleshooting and validation of DNS load-balancing decisions are hindered in large environments. -Workarounds such as core dumps or engineering hotfixes may be required to access the full set of records, increasing operational complexity and risk.

Conditions

-BIG-IP DNS systems with more than 1,000 LDNS or path records. -User attempts to display all records using tmsh show gtm ldns or tmsh show gtm path.
