Symptoms

The tmsh show sys performance throughput Output value displays 0 on BIG-IP VE despite normal data plane traffic. The tx_hw_drop counter on the external interface increments while tx_pkts and bytes_out remain at 0. Monitoring and SNMP tools relying on throughput statistics report incorrect values

Impact

Throughput monitoring and reporting show incorrect values. Actual data plane traffic is not affected

Conditions

BIG-IP VE using the socket network driver. This applies to virtual edition deployments across all hypervisors and cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V
