Bug ID 2314493: The HSB on BIG-IP platforms can get into a bad state resulting in packet corruption.

Last Modified: Oct 16, 2026

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP TMOS(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
17.1.0, 17.1.0.1, 17.1.0.2, 17.1.0.3, 17.1.1, 17.1.1.1, 17.1.1.2, 17.1.1.3, 17.1.1.4, 17.1.2, 17.1.2.1, 17.1.2.2, 17.1.3, 17.1.3.1, 17.1.3.2, 17.1.3.4, 17.1.3.5, 17.1.3.6, 17.5.0, 17.5.1, 17.5.1.2, 17.5.1.3, 17.5.1.4, 17.5.1.5, 17.5.1.6, 17.5.1.8, 17.5.1.9, 17.5.1.10

Opened: Jun 04, 2026

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

BIG-IP systems may experience intermittent packet corruption while traffic passes through the High-Speed Bridge (HSB). The corruption may affect different parts of a packet, including MAC addresses, EtherType, IP or TCP headers, packet payloads, or checksums. Symptoms may include incomplete ARP entries, failed or unstable high availability or configuration synchronization, health monitor or pool instability, dropped connections, or TCP resets.

Impact

Packet corruption may cause network connectivity problems for some traffic passing through the affected HSB. Depending on the corrupted packet fields, the BIG-IP system may experience ARP resolution failures, dropped or rejected packets, invalid checksums, TCP resets, unstable health monitors, configuration synchronization problems, or high availability connection instability.

Conditions

Workaround

Reboot the affected BIG-IP system to clear the HSB bad state.
