Bug ID 2505405: EDR license entitlement may briefly display "Missing" in logs following a controller reboot

Last Modified: Oct 19, 2026

Affected Product(s):
F5OS F5OS-C(all modules)

Fixed In:
F5OS v2.0.0-HR3

Opened: Sep 11, 2026

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

After a controller reboots, the EDR Enablement License entitlement status logged by the system may briefly report "Missing," even though a valid EDR add-on license is installed and active. The log self-corrects to the proper entitlement state (Active or Expired) within sometime, with no further recurrence.

Impact

This is a logging/display issue only — there is no functional or security impact. The EDR sensor continues running undisturbed throughout, and no license, entitlement, or sensor data is actually lost or altered. The only effect is a transient, inaccurate "Missing" entry in the logs immediately after reboot, which could momentarily mislead an administrator reviewing logs right after a reboot into thinking the EDR license isn't applied.

Conditions

This is an intermittent, timing-related issue that can occur only on controller reboot when: 1.An EDR add-on license is installed on the system. 2.A supported third-party EDR sensor (e.g., CrowdStrike Falcon) is installed and running.

Workaround

No action is required. The correct entitlement status (Active/Expired) is automatically logged in subsequent logs after reboot. If immediate confirmation is needed, check the current entitlement using the system's licensing display (show system licensing) rather than relying on the log entry generated during the reboot window.

Fix Information

The entitlement status check has been updated to wait until the system has finished reading and processing the installed license at startup before logging the EDR entitlement state, ensuring only the accurate status is logged - eliminating the transient incorrect "Missing" entry on reboot.
