Bug ID 2524609: Missing FDB entries for mac masquerade addresses for additional traffic groups may cause packet loss

Last Modified: Sep 30, 2026

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP TMOS(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
17.5.1.9

Opened: Sep 18, 2026

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

In an F5OS tenant with multiple traffic groups, the platform_agent may fail to create the necessary FDB entries on the hypervisor for the additional traffic groups during the initial setup. However, once the tenant is rebooted or the platform_agent is restarted, the entries are successfully created

Impact

The lack of FDB entries can cause packet loss for ingress packets destined to the mac masquerade address as DLF traffic is rate limited

Conditions

- F5OS Tenant - Multiple traffic groups - MAC masquerade configured on the additional traffic group - No floating self-ips configured on the affected VLANs - Initial traffic group creation

Workaround

Reboot the tenant or restart platform_agent
