Severity: 2-Critical

Symptoms

The mcpd process restarts and writes a core file. The /var/log/ltm file contains a message similar to the following: err mcpd[<pid>]: 01070001:3: Failed to allocate memory for size <size> at framework/MCPProcessor.cpp:1144. After mcpd restarts, tmm also restarts and logs: crit tmm[<pid>]: 01010020:2: MCP Connection aborted, exiting

Impact

The MCPD and TMM processes restart. Traffic is disrupted while TMM restarts

Conditions

- The mcpd process reaches the operating system limit for memory mappings in one process - An SNMP manager polls the pool member statistics table - The configuration contains a large number of pool members
