Symptoms

After the management-ip address is changed, the BIG-IP system continues to use the old management-ip address. You might see the following error in /var/log/ltm: -- warning chmand[6584]: 012a0004:4: mcp_admin_ip_remove, delMgmtAddr() catch exception: Network Socket: Open Error [No such device], possibly nonexistent.

Impact

Unable to change management-ip address. After changing the management-ip, the old address will continue to be listed.

Conditions

Running on platforms that use eth0 interface for management traffic. To determine whether the platform you have uses the eth0 interface for management traffic, run following command: ifconfig eth0.

Workaround

Save the change and reboot the system. After the changes have been saved, they will be applied after the unit is rebooted.
