After repeatedly rebooting an iSeries platform, the LCD can become erroneously set to secure mode on its own, and you are unable to use the menus on the LCD.
-- LCD becomes set to secure mode. -- The bigdb variable lcd.showmenu is changed to 'disable'.
-- Repeated reboots of the device. -- The db lcd.showmenu value initially set to enable are required. -- Other required conditions are not fully known.
Run the commands: tmsh modify sys db lcd.showmenu value disable tmsh modify sys db lcd.showmenu value enable This clears the secure mode of the LCD.
