Last Modified: Jul 20, 2021

Affected Product:  See more info
BIG-IQ Device(all modules)

Opened: Jul 16, 2021
Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

When using the BIG-IQ GUI interface to perform a Declarative Onboarding (DO) of a BIG-IP device, the Self IP class requires that the IP address be entered in a format that includes the CIDR appended to it. EG. 10.10.10.10/24. The GUI validation fails to enforce this, and Declarative Onboarding will fail after it is submitted id the IP is entered without the CIDR.

Impact

The Declarative Onboarding task will fail with an error similar to the following: Task Failed: Failed to complete onboarding task. code: 422, message: invalid config - rolled back, error: "10.10.10.10" a netmask must be specified

Conditions

Submitting a Declarative Onboarding task using the BIG-IQ GUI.

Workaround

Include the CIDR notation in the IP address field. eg. 10.10.10.10/24
