Opened: Jul 21, 2021
Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

/var partition can fill up. Bulk of data in /var will be observed under folder /var/lib/pgsql/data/base. This will result in incomplete configuration of PostgresDB. This can cause recurring errors in postgres/bootstrap logs

Impact

This will either fail the upgrade (if disk fills up during upgrade) or you will see the device left in inoperable state following an upgrade (while the upgrade succeeds). Usually the latter occurs.

Conditions

This occurs due to certain RBAC configuration (in postgresDB prior) present prior to upgrade (for example, a large number of custom roles)
