Symptoms

There are cases where the HSB and switch report FCS errors on the HSB <-> switch interfaces. This can be seen in the snmp_dot3_stat table: name fcs_errors ---------- ---------- 12.1 83233172 This can cause intermittent packet loss, leading to networking errors. This can be observed on the BIG-IP as pool monitor flapping, intermittent networking connectivity, etc.

There is impact on networking traffic.

Conditions

An iSeries platform with an HSB and switch.

Workaround

There is no workaround for this issue. When this condition occurs, the unit needs to be rebooted to clear the issue. ID1239905 can be used to detect and mitigate this issue.
