Symptoms

Citrix VDI desktop/apps reconnect fails after network outage when HTML5 client is used

Impact

Users may not access desktop/app after Network restores.

Conditions

1. Citrix VDI is configured in integration mode 2. VDI resource Desktop/Apps is accessed using HTML5 client by clicking on webtop resource. 3. Network outage happens

Workaround

Add following iRule to the Citrix virtual server. when HTTP_REQUEST { set type [ACCESS::session data get session.client.type] set tmm_apm_ws_origin "https://[string tolower [HTTP::host]]" if { ([HTTP::method] equals "GET") && ([HTTP::path] equals "/") && ([string tolower [HTTP::header Connection]] contains "upgrade") && ([string tolower [HTTP::header Upgrade]] equals "websocket") && (!($type starts_with "citrix")) && ([ACCESS::session exists -state_allow] || [ACCESS::session exists -state_redirect]) && (($tmm_apm_ws_origin equals [string tolower [HTTP::header Origin]]))} { ACCESS::session data set session.client.citrix "1" # log local0.
