Symptoms

The i5x00/i7x00/i10x00/i11x00 series platform may experience HSB CRC errors. This is reported in the LTM logs: crit tmm2[14030]: 01010025:2: Device error: hsbe2 hsb_lbb0 hde2_crc_errs count 1738. This results in an high availability (HA) event, either go-offline-downlinks or a reboot depending on the BIG-IP version.

Impact

When this condition occurs, the system is taken offline, requiring either manual intervention if the high availability (HA) action is to go-offline-downlinks or a disruption of traffic if the high availability (HA) action is reboot.

Conditions

i5x00/i7x00/i10x00/i11x00 series platforms. It's unclear if this issue is specific to configuration.

Workaround

A reboot of the unit can clear the issue.
