Symptoms

When a remote RADIUS or TACACS+ user attempts to log in via SSH for the first time, the login fails with an error as shown below: [root@test ~]# ssh radius_user@<Mgmt IP> Password: Last failed login: Mon Jan 29 23:52:29 UTC 2024 from <Src IP> on ssh:notty This account is currently not available. Connection to <Mgmt IP> closed. Subsequent logins will succeed.

Impact

First login to the system as a remote user fails, which could be concerning to the user or cause issues with automation.

Conditions

1. RADIUS or TACACS+ authentication are enabled. 2. A user defined on the remote authentication server attempts to SSH into F5OS for the first time.

Workaround

Attempt to login again. Subsequent login attempts after the first login will be successful.

First login with a remote RADIUS or TACACS+ user will fail with "This account is currently not available". Subsequent login attempts after the first login will be successful.
