Bug ID 1593841: Enabling and disabling a virtual server after disabling the virtual address may cause it to pass traffic even though the virtual-address is disabled.

Last Modified: Oct 19, 2025

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP TMOS(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
15.1.10.2, 15.1.10.3, 15.1.10.4, 15.1.10.5, 15.1.10.6, 15.1.10.7, 15.1.10.8

Opened: Jun 11, 2024

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

Tmm may pass traffic on a virtual server that has a disabled virtual-address.

Impact

If tm.continuematching is enabled tmm may choose a more specific virtual server even though the virtual-address assigned to that virtual is disabled. If tm.continuematching is disabled, tmm may pass traffic on a virtual server even though its virtual-address is disabled.

Conditions

A virtual-address is disabled. Then, either the tmm is restarted, or the virtual server is manually disabled and enabled via tmsh (not by a monitor).

Workaround

Enable or disable the virtual address again. Apply or remove a monitor to the pool assigned to the affectd virtual server.
