Client users are not automatically logged on to the Edge client using previously entered Microsoft Windows credentials, instead client users on Windows 11 24H2 computers are prompted with a logon page to enter the credentials.
Unable to automatically logon to Edge client and user is prompted for credentials.
- Windows 11 24H2 - "User Logon Credentials Access Service" checkbox is enabled under Available Components during BIG-IP Edge Client installer download from connectivity profile.
- Enabling the EnableMPRNotification policy and disabling the AllowAutomaticRestartSignOn policy resolves the issue and Edge Client can connect automatically without prompting for credentials. - EnableMPRNotification policy was introduced in Windows 11 22H2. This policy governs whether the user's password is included in the content of MPR notifications sent by winlogon in the system. It is enabled by default in Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2, and disabled by default in Windows 11 24H2. Activating this policy on Windows 11 24H2 devices will allow winlogon to include the password in MPR notifications. - However, enabling the EnableMPRNotification policy may lead to a secondary issue on devices where the AllowAutomaticRestartSignOn policy is enabled. In such cases, the password passed in the MPR notification might not be the one specified by the user during logon.
