Monitor flapping occurs when the system clock is changed Health monitors show unexpected status changes when system time is adjusted (e.g., using date -s '+30 seconds') Pool members may incorrectly transition between up/down state
When the system clock moves backwards, the monitor interval grows by the amount of time the clock moved backwards Monitors can become "stuck" and not execute at their configured intervals False positive/negative health check results Potential service disruption due to incorrect pool member status Traffic may be incorrectly routed or blocked based on faulty monitor status
The system clock is modified (either manually or automatically, such as NTP adjustments)
