Symptoms

The common attribute "host.name" in telemetry data sent by OpenTelemetry on F5OS-A/C does not reflect the configured hostname.

Impact

The "host.name" attribute may show controller-1 or controller-2 on VELOS controller, partition<partition-id> on partitions, and appliance-1 on rSeries.

Conditions

F5OS-A/C is upgraded to a version that supports OpenTelemetry, and telemetry is configured.

Workaround

Perform either of the following: - Change the hostname to a temporary hostname and change it back. - Reboot the affected controller or appliance. Note: Workaround above does not take effect on F5OS-A 1.7.x, which is affected by ID 1300749.
