Bug ID 2225185: Blade Controlplane LACP links may report down due to link issues

Last Modified: Feb 25, 2026

Affected Product(s):
F5OS F5OS-C(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
F5OS-C 1.8.0, F5OS-C 1.8.1, F5OS-C 1.8.2

Opened: Feb 17, 2026

Severity: 2-Critical

Symptoms

One or more interface is missing from the controller LACP member table. Under normal operation with two working controllers, each controller LACP aggregation will contain two interfaces in its member table. Inspecting ifconfig on the impacted blade for ctrlplane00 or ctrlplane02 will report the RX errors counter incrementing.

Impact

The affected link will be unable to pass traffic due to the inability to negotiate the LACP protocol. Traffic will still work at half bandwidth. If the controller with a working link is rebooted or removed, the affected blade will lose all control plane connection.

Conditions

It is unknown what condition causes this issue. Given the symptom of ctrlplane00 or ctrplane02 interface rx errors, we suspect it is possible this is either a driver or hardware issue that is more likely to occur when a blade is inserted or after a blade software upgrade.

Workaround

A blade power cycle or blade reseat has been shown to recover the affected link.
