Bug ID 420810: Increasing the number of slots on a B4300-deployed vCMP guest during runtime

Last Modified: Oct 03, 2023

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP vCMP(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
11.4.0

Fixed In:
11.4.1

Opened: May 08, 2013

Severity: 2-Critical

Symptoms

There is an issue that occurs after increasing the number of slots on a B4300-deployed vCMP guest from 1 to multiple slots.

Impact

The incoming dataplane traffic continues to arrive on the original slot and can impact performance due to the need for tmm to redirect the flows to new slots.

Conditions

This occurs when increasing the number of slots on a B4300-deployed vCMP guest.

Workaround

The workaround requires taking the guest down to configured, and then back to deployed.

Fix Information

vCMP guests on B4300 blades with slots added at runtime no longer have tmm redirects on original guest slot.
