The internal memory used for OS buffers and caches was not properly factored into memory use statistics. Further, memory use statistics were not consistent across TMSH, TMUI and the Dashboard.
This caused the estimate of remaining available resources on the BIG-IP to be off, leading to inefficient provisioning or overall utilization.
None
The memory adjusted for buffers and cache is available using the Linux "free" command.
Buffers and caches are now properly reflected as free memory since they are generally available for use by other processes. The memory stats across BIG-IP management interfaces are now consistent.
changed how memory is reported in the dashboard, performance graphs, gui, tmsh, snmp
