Symptoms

Under periods of heavy traffic load, on fully-provisioned systems with little free memory and compression and/or encryption enabled, TMM may core and the BIG-IP appliance may fail over.

Impact

Traffic disrupted while tmm restarts.

Conditions

This issue can occur on BIG-IP 4000-series or 2000-series appliances that are under heavy traffic or other load resulting in high memory usage, with compression and/or encryption enabled.

Fix Information

Fixed a TMM SIGSEGV crash that can occur on BIG-IP 4000-series or 2000-series platforms that are low on memory and processing heavy amounts of compression and/or encrypted traffic.
