Bug ID 421891: TMM crash when WA attempts to serve documents from datastor

Last Modified: Jul 12, 2023

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP AAM, WAM(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
11.4.0, 11.4.1

Fixed In:
11.5.0, 11.4.0 HF3

Opened: May 24, 2013

Severity: 2-Critical

Symptoms

WebAccelerator is used to store a document in memory and serve it upon a new request. When storing the document, it marks all the parts in the storage, and rarely may store an optimized-for-storage document without an appropriate marking. When WebAccelerator tries to retrieve such a document, TMM may get into an endless loop, expecting an extra part in response that that incorrect marking.

Impact

* Loss of service.

Conditions

* Webaccelerator is enabled on the virtual server. * Request queuing is enabled. * Reading from datastor when the document is simultaneously written and optimized.

Workaround

* Disable request queuing in webaccelerator policy.

Fix Information

TMM no longer crashes with SIGABRT when reading from datastor while the document is being written and optimized.
