Enabling the feature of iStats with AVR is hidden in command which is less known to end-user. Thus, it is rarely being used.

In previous versions, starting with version 11.1.0, you could use the command line to obtain and manage Analytics statistics in real-time using iRules. To make this feature more visible to the user, with this release, instead of enabling the ISTATS variable from the command line, you select the Publish iRule Statistics check box in the Local Traffic > Profiles > Analytics > Analytics Profile Properties screen. This setting is disabled by default.
