Symptoms

After licensing a platform, it may lose its recently DHCP acquired management route and hostname if the configuration is not saved before licensing.

Impact

Unlicensed systems acquiring licenses may lose their default route on the license transition if it was not previously saved. Utilize the console port or access the BIG-IP management address from another system on the local subnet to recover from this condition.

Conditions

This occurs when using DHCP.

Workaround

After licensing the instance using console, restart Dhclient through 'bigstart restart dhclient' to restore the configuration acquired through DHCP server.
