Symptoms

A system that was once provisioned for APM may fail to perform software installs, or save a UCS archive

Impact

The software install fails, or hangs at 0%, and there is a 'tmsh save sys ucs' command process running on the system (e.g., in the 'ps auxww' output). Scripts or processes that rely on the ability to automatically create a UCS archive also fail or hang.

Conditions

This occurs on a system that was once provisioned for APM, but is no longer provisioned, and no other modules are running rely on MySQL (e.g., ASM or AVR) so mysqld is not running.

Workaround

Either provision a module that relies upon MySQL (e.g., APM, ASM, or AVR), or modify /usr/libdata/configsync/cs.dat and remove the 'save.1400' section that invokes ldbutil.

Fix Information

Systems previously provisioned for the BIG-IP APM system now successfully perform software installations.
