Symptoms

There is no available DB variable to change the logging level of the local OMAPD instance on the BIG-IP in TMUI or TMSH.

Impact

If administrator needs to troubleshoot potential issues with user identity information being sent to BIG-IP APM from the F5 DC Agent, they are unable to increase local log levels to gain additional information on the issue.

Trying to change the logging level of the local OMAPD instance on the BIG-IP in TMUI or TMSH

Workaround

To change the log level, one must manually edit via the console the omapd config file located at /var/swg/omapd/omapd.conf. In that file, look for the debug_level element and change it's value to 'ffff': <debug_level>ffff</debug_level> After saving the file, restart omapd: bigstart restart omapd One can now check output of /var/log/omapd to see additional detail.
