If you apply a default speed setting of 1G, then disable an interface for 10G/1G SFP media ports, this can lead to link flapping side effects with certain peer switches (such as Cisco).
Link flapping observed on interfaces being disabled.
Link flapping was observed with certain (Cisco) peer switches at about the time of disabling the relevant ports.
