Last Modified: Jul 12, 2023

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP ASM(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:

Fixed In:

Opened: Oct 15, 2013

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

If the configuration or license or other attribute of a V1 plugin is changed, this may lead to TMM crashing.

Impact

Existing flows will be lost, and traffic will not be handled until the TMM is restarted.

Conditions

A configuration event (licence or configuration or other change) on a V1 plugin while disabled plugin flows exist can lead to stale plugin-related data being inadvertently used, causing a TMM crash.

Workaround

Change V1 plugins configurations, renew licenses, or make other plugin-related changes when traffic levels are likely to be low to reduce the chance of this happening. Divert traffic to backup BigIPs if possible.

Fix Information

The BIG-IP now correctly handles stale connections to a disabled V1 plugin.
