Symptoms

Microsoft Windows RT is a variant of the Windows 8 operating system designed for mobile devices which use 32-bit ARM architecture. Microsoft is restricting the development of desktop applications and browser add-ons on Windows RT.

Impact

There is a notification pop-up to install required components during execution access policy with Windows Cache and Session Control.

Conditions

Windows RT does not support browser exceptions (ActiveX).

Workaround

In APM Access Policy you can add Client type detection action (before Windows Cache and Session Control action) allow access for Windows RT clients.

Fix Information

Windows RT devices in Access Policy directed to Windows Cache and Session Control no longer ask Windows RT users to install browser extensions.
