Symptoms

The following symptoms may be observed on BIG-IP 2000-/4000-series appliances: (ID447255) Error messages including the following string may be logged in the LTM log by the chmand component: Sensor read fault for CPU #1 temperature (ID435053) Error messages including the following string may be logged in the LTM log by the chmand component: Sensor read fault for Power supply ... (ID422648) The "AOM" command menu option "E" (Display error report) may display errors such as the following when the BIG-IP host has been powered off via the AOM menu: Main board +5V voltage event Main board +3.3V voltage event Main board +1.8V_QDR voltage event Main board +1.5V_QDR voltage event Main board +0.75V_QDRVTT_A voltage event Main board +12V voltage event

Impact

The CPU #1 temperature errors reported by chmand indicate an intermittent failure to read the CPU temperature sensor, and do not indicate a hardware failure or CPU over-temperature condition. The power-supply errors reported by chmand and AOM indicate an intermittent failure to read the indicated power-supply status, and do not indicate a hardware failure.

Conditions

These symptoms may occur on BIG-IP 2000-/4000-series appliances running LBH firmware versions earlier than v4.04. Chmand error messages (ID435053 and ID447255) may occur intermittently. AOM error messages (ID422648) may occur when the host has been powered off via the AOM menu.

Workaround

None.
