When an SFP module is inserted into an SFP port on a BIG-IP 800 appliance, the SFP module is not detected, and the link is not established.
SFP insertion or removal is not detected, so link status is not updated accordingly. As a result, the link is not established after SFP insertion.
This issue occurs only on the BIG-IP 800 appliance, when an SFP module is inserted or removed after the BIG-IP system has booted. Note that this issue does not occur on BIG-IP 800 appliances running any version of BIG-IP v11.4.0, or on any other BIG-IP platform.
To work around this, after inserting or removing the SFP module, restart the bcmd56xxd daemon using the following command: bigstart restart bcmd56xxd
SFP insertion and removal events are detected automatically on BIG-IP 800 appliances.
