Symptoms

When a single disk drive in a raid array is physically removed from a running system, the following errors will be logged every 5secs until the system is rebooted: statsd[13166]: 011b0203:3: Error 'No such file or directory' opening file /sys/block/sda/stat err statsd[13166]: 011b0900:3: TMSTAT error max disk stat: read failed.

Impact

Log messages every 5 secs.

Workaround

None.

Fix Information

Properly detect disk removal and don't query stats for drives that have been removed.
