Symptoms

If you do not have LTM, GTM, or DNS/GTM licensed, any attempt to create a LTM monitor DNS will fail with an error.

Impact

Some upgrades will fail.

Conditions

Upgrades to v11.4+ will fail if not properly licensed. If not licensed, creation of a DNS monitor will fail.

Workaround

Delete the DNS monitor.

Fix Information

Users with APM or PEM licenses can now use the DNS monitor.
