Symptoms

BIG-IP systems with Load Balancer Limited (LBL) licenses fail provisioning initialization after an upgrade.

Impact

Module Not Licensed error. This message is cosmetic only. The system operates as expected.

Conditions

Unit is licensed LBL only, but is provisioned with LTM, and you upgrade the BIG-IP 10.x system to BIG-IP 11.4.x - 11.5.1.

Workaround

Run the following commands to set ltm provision level to none using tmsh: -- modify sys provision ltm level none -- save sys config.

Fix Information

BIG-IP systems with Load Balancer Limited (LBL) licenses no longer show provisioning or licensing errors after an upgrade.
