Symptoms

ZoneRunner allows you to create an invalid CNAME record with value '.' (dot or period). However, the GUI crashes when you attempt to remove it.

Impact

The delete operation fails and the system posts the error: Page error: Error parsing resource record form.

Conditions

This occurs when you try to delete an invalid CNAME record with value '.'

Workaround

rndc freeze <zonename> Remove the entry from: /var/named/config/namedb/db.<viewname>.<zonename>. rndc thaw <zonename>

Fix Information

ZoneRunner no longer allows creation of an invalid CNAME record with value '.' (dot or period).
