Symptoms

System authentication using APM methods will not work if the user name and password contains Unicode characters (e.g., Chinese characters) or the symbols ampersand, colon, less than, and single quotation mark (&, :, <, and ').

Impact

Users with unicode characters are unable to log in.

Conditions

Authentication is being done with APM.

Workaround

None.
