Symptoms

On a Virtual Edition system, TMM may crash if it needs to forward a received packet to another TMM, and is configured with tagged interfaces in VLANs.

Impact

Traffic disrupted while tmm restarts.

Conditions

This issue occurs on Virtual Edition (VE) systems that are configured to pass tagged VLANs through to the virtual machine, and if it then needs to forward a received packet to another TMM (e.g., a CMP-demoted virtual server).

Workaround

It might be possible to disable use of ethernet vlan tags to avoid this problem.

Fix Information

TMM no longer may restart on Virtual Edition systems when receiving an incoming packet on a tagged VLAN that need to be forwarded to a different TMM (e.g. a CMP-demoted virtual server).
