Last Modified: Sep 13, 2023

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP LTM(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:

Fixed In:

Opened: Apr 14, 2014

Severity: 3-Major

Related Article: K15469

Symptoms

After loading the configuration (e.g. "tmsh load sys config"), network virtual-servers which should have ICMP-echo disabled may incorrectly have it enabled.

Impact

IP addresses which are actually offline / non-existent may start responding to "ping". This confounds troubleshooting, and may adversely affect devices which have ICMP monitors configured.

Conditions

Network virtual servers configured

Workaround

Change icmp-echo value back to disabled after load

Fix Information

Configuration loads correct virtual-address icmp-echo values
