Opened: Apr 16, 2014

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

The Device Group sync state indicators do not reflect the current state of the ASM configuration.

Impact

The sync state appears green in the GUI, but the ASM state is not yet synchronized. This can cause confusion or incorrect enforcement in the case of a failed load.

Conditions

A full sync is being pushed from one device to another, and it has not yet successfully loaded on the peer, or the load failed.

Workaround

ASM sync normally resolves itself within a few minutes of the green indication in the GUI. Both successful sync or sync failure can be seen in /var/log/asm -------------- Success: A. Sync recovery state resolved successfully Failure: A. Sync recovery state timed out. State may be inconsistent with other peers B. Could not load configuration while in sync recovery state: ---------------
