When there are multiple transfers on an active FTP connection, the mirroring can intermittently fail. When observing the tmsh show sys conn on active and standby units, the data connection may appear only on the active BIG-IP.
If a failover occurs, active FTP sessions will receive aborts. This does not affect passive FTP transfers.
This is most likely when the connection between the BIG-IP and the FTP server exhibits lower latency and higher throughput than the connection between the active and standby BIG-IP. Not all connections will be affected.
This issue has no workaround at this time.
Active FTP connections will be properly mirrored, and failover will work as expected.
